Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in ICRISAT in Patancheruvu this afternoon.Fifty years have passed since the establishment of the world-renowned crop research institute “ICRISAT”.
The Prime Minister will take part in the Golden Jubilee celebrations on the occasion, unveil the new logo and participate in an interview with scientists there.
Established in 1972 in Patanucheru, Sangareddy district, the company is spread over 3,434 acres.
Mainly here, hundreds of varieties of vegetables like sorghum, groundnut, senaga and sajjalu have been introduced.Not only that, but it is also conducting research on new climate-tolerant varieties that provide nutritional security.
There was a great deal of national and international effort behind setting up ICRISAT in Patancheruvu itself.
It is helping countries in Asia and Africa that do not have proper rainfall.
Creating new recipes aimed at nutrition and food security and serving to the respective countries.It takes a decade or so for each bending research to end and reach the hands of farmers.
But last year, a “Rapid Gen Center” was set up in ICRISAT to provide new products in less than a year and a half.The organization, which has been contributing to the development of the community with continuous research for the past five decades, has beautified the ICRISAT campus with the arrival of the Prime Minister at the Golden Jubilee.
