Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief and Chief Minister of Telangana, KCR has decided to set up a Metro train up to Shamshabad International Airport.However, Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited has also been set up specifically for this purpose by the KCR govt.
As part of the second phase of the Metro project, proposals have already been drawn up to construct a 31-km-long Metro Corridor on the IT Corridor at Rayadurg Metro Station along the Gachibowli-Outer Ring Road to Shamshabad Airport and a DPR has been prepared with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.However, in the recent state budget, the govt has allocated Rs 1000 crore for this project.
From now on, Shamshabad will become a hub not only for the aviation sector but also for various business and commercial activities.The metro will be constructed from the Gachibowli IT corridor to the airport.
While the state government has already allocated Rs 1,000 crore, metro officials are preparing plans to start the works.
Meanwhile, the newly set up Aero City at Shamshabad Airport on 1500 acres will be a hub for new business and commercial complexes.
Experts say that Shamshabad will become another business district hub similar to Gachibowli Financial District, which has become a hub for IT and IT-based companies.
