Kyrgyzstan elects new Parliament Speaker

Bishkek : , The 7th Kyrgyz Parliament convocation elected Talant Mamytov Speaker.
According to Xinhua news agency, the ceremony of taking the oath and first meeting in the new parliament occurred on Wednesday.

Two candidates were considered: Adakhan Madumarov from the Butun Kyrgyzstan and Talant Mamytov from the Yntymak Yntymak parties.

Thus, out of the 87 deputies voting for Mamytov, 63 voted in favor and 10 voted Madumarov.

Other 14 members voted against them.

Mamytov was the speaker at the convocation’s last meeting.On November 4, 2020, he was elected.

In connection to his participation in the November 28 parliamentary election, he resigned at the end October 2021.

On Wednesday, the Kyrgyz parliament’s 7th convocation elected their deputies.

The official results were announced by Nurzhan Shaildabekova, head of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan (CEC).

The first-ever mixed electoral system was used to hold the Kyrgyzstan parliamentary election.54 of the 90 members were elected through proportional systems from various political parties and 36 from single-mandate constituencies.

In Parliament there are both single-mandate constituencies and political parties.
