Actress Kangana Ranaut is known for her outspoken nature and her tendency to engage in verbal sparring with fellow members of the film industry.One of her frequent targets has been filmmaker Karan Johar, and their latest clash is no exception.
Recently, Kangana came across an old video of Karan and actress Sonam Kapoor discussing her English language skills on the talk show ‘Koffee With Karan.’ In the video, Karan asks Sonam to name a celebrity whom she would like to give the “ability to speak English fluently.” After some hesitation, Sonam replies, “I think Kangana has a great fashion sense but…” and Karan interjects with, “With questionable English,” to which Sonam agrees.
The video then transitions to Kangana’s interview with Anupama Chopra, where she expresses her hurt feelings regarding Sonam and Karan’s comments.
Kangana, who was 24 years old at the time, shares that she is trying to focus on her strengths rather than being criticized for her mistakes.She acknowledges that improving her language skills is one area she is actively working on.
The resurfaced video has gone viral, and Kangana took to her Instagram handle to share it.In her post, she claims that her years of fighting against the film industry’s elite have made it so that outsiders are no longer mocked for their lack of English fluency.
She then proceeds to refer to Sonam as an “English-speaking gossipy aunty,” emphasizing that even at 24, she displayed grace, sophistication, articulation, and humility despite being bullied and humiliated.
Turning to Kangana’s upcoming projects, she is set to appear in the film ‘Tejas,’ which is slated to release on October 20.Additionally, she has taken on the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in her ambitious project ‘Emergency,’ which is scheduled for release on November 24.Apart from these, Kangana also has ‘Chandramukhi 2’ and a biopic about Noti Binodini in the pipeline.
