Singer Sandeep Acharya, winner of the second edition of popular reality show Indian Idol 2, died of jaundice at a hospital in Gurgaon on Sunday morning.He was suffering from jaundice for the past few days
He was 29 and is survived by his wife and an infant daughter.
Born and brought up at Bikaner in Rajasthan, Acharya was the winner of Indian Idol, a reality show on Sony TV, in 2006.Soon after winning the show, Acharya released his first album ‘Mere Saath Saara Jahaan’
Sandeep reportedly fell ill after attending a relative’s wedding ceremony in Bikaner.
Sandeep won India Idol 2 on 22 April 2006.He later participated in TV show Jalwa Four 2 Ka 1 on channel 9X.Sandeep also won the award for best new Bollywood talent in New Jersey, USA and also won the Sur Aradhna award.
The judges and host of the second season of the ‘Indian Idol’ expressed grief over the sudden demise of the singer.
Sonu Nigam, who was one of the judges on ‘Indian Idol 2’, posted on Twitter: “Sandeep Acharya died? Oh my God.I’m so so sad.What a beautiful soul.The boy was just 29… God give his parents some strength.
”
Show’s host Mini Mathur said: “What a sad, premature goodbye to a talented, ambitious, happy boy.”
