San Francisco, Aug 11 : HyperSocial CEO Braden Wallake has been criticized for posting a picture of himself in tears after laying off a few of HyperSocial’s employees.
Wallake who founded Hyper Social in 2016 posted a lengthy message on LinkedIn this week, describing his utter dismay at the decision to dismiss employees, as reported by the DailyMail.

“I realize that it’s not professional to say to my staff that I cherish them. But from the most deep of my heart, I want them to understand how much I appreciate them,” he said.

The following day, he admitted that only two of his employees were fired -and one of them was fired – with his wife Emily Chucta, the chief operations officer, removing the second one, according to the report.

In the meantime, social media users took to different platforms to criticize the CEO.

“Maybe the CEO who was crying and had around 20 employees did the right thing for the people who were there. It’s probably the greatest publicity that HyperSocial has ever had.I’ve never had heard of HyperSocial prior to this. They’re not even listed on Twitter,” a user wrote on the microblogging website Twitter.

“#BradenWallake the crying CEO’, made use of LinkedIn to make clear his position on firing employees.Poor guy just wanted to show his face. The wrong choice to make using Linked. He should have made use of TikTok or Instagram instead.

LinkedIn is now Facebook!” taking aim at the CEO, a user wrote.

Wallake said to Motherboard that both of the employees who were laid off were “over-the-top nice” about the situation and “assured” Chucta and him that they were “going to be fine”.

He stated that he made the LinkedIn post after a couple of hours.

“I was sitting at my desk like of crying, I think and then I decided to make the post because I’ve seen numerous posts on LinkedIn recently of how horrible CEOs and business owners are for cutting their staffs and also firing employees while they’re buying a third home in the Bahamas or some other place,” Wallake said.
