In particular in Delhi, where residents are on strike for NEET PG counseling.This strikes comes as the nation faces the possibility of another wave of Covid-19 (especially the Omicron version).It was 2020’s farmers’ movement that had upset the government.2019 was NRC-CAA protests across the country.Shaheen Bagh, Delhi became the epicenter of protests with demonstrations spreading from Assam and Kerala.This was second only to the Anna Hazare protests in India.
This year, the government resolved farmers’ protests by pulling the controversial farm laws.However, it now has to address the protests of resident doctors over NEET.
On Tuesday, the Resident Doctors Association and Health Minister could not come to an agreement on the matter.
On Wednesday, the resident physicians continued to protest their demands and demanded that the FIRs against them be withdrawn.
On Tuesday, the meeting between the delegation of protesting doctors with the Union Health Minister had not resulted in any progress.
For the last 13 days, the resident doctors protested against the delaying of NEET-PG-2021 counseling.
The issue was not addressed by the government at first, and the protests have spread to all parts of India.
After the farm bills were adopted in 2020, the 15-month-long farmer agitation began against them.
After the Farmers’ Produce Commerce and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020, and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill 2020 were passed by Parliament, the agitation ended.
On December 12, 2019, the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA) came into effect.
After the CAA rules have been notified, the CAA-covered persons may apply to become citizens.The announcement by the government that the NRC would be implemented nationwide in the latter part of 2019 or early 2020 sparked massive protests across the country.
The NRC was rejected by many states, particularly those that are ruled by the opposition.
