Google cautions users to swiftly update Chrome to prevent hacking risk

New Delhi, Sep 6 : Google has advised its users to install an update to security in the Chrome browser to protect themselves from a serious flaw that hackers are actively exploiting.
The tech giant stated that it was aware of reports that an exploit for ‘CVE-2022-3075 exists in the wild, referring to this vulnerability as “Insufficient data validation in Mojo” disclosed by an unnamed security researcher.

The company announced that it has issued a security patch to Google Chrome users on Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.It will be rolling out in the coming days/weeks.

“Access to bug information and links may be restricted until the majority of users are updated with the fix,” Google said in an update to security.

“We will also maintain limitations if the issue is in an external library that different projects are dependent on but that we haven’t yet been fixed,” it added.

It is the sixth zero-day security vulnerability Chrome has had to deal with to date in the year.

Chrome users must restart their browsers in order to activate the most recent security update.

This latest version comes just a few days following Google launched Chrome version 105 on August 30.

“We want to acknowledge all security researchers who collaborated with us throughout the development phase to prevent security bugs from ever making it to the stable channel” explained the company.
