New Delhi, Sep 7 : Google has issued the first security update that fixes issues in Pixel phones that run Android 13 to address issues like a greater drain on battery and the disabling of wireless charging. The September 2022 software update will be available to all compatible Pixel devices that run Android 13 from Tuesday.
“The rolling out will be carried out for the next week in stages based on the your carrier and device.Pixel 6a phones will get the update later in the month,” the company said in an update.
Users will be notified when the available over-the-air (OTA) update is made available on their device.
The security update contains bugs that fix issues leading to a higher battery drain due to certain background activities of the launcher, and also the issue that prevents wireless charging mode from working in certain circumstances.
The update also provides enhancements to fingerprint recognition as well as responsiveness in certain conditions. It also fixes the issue of preventing some Bluetooth equipment or devices from connecting.
The security update for the month of March includes a fix for an issue that was sometimes causing notifications to appear cut off on the screen of the lock.
These fixes are now accessible for Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 5, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6a (later this month).
A while ago in the past, certain Pixel 6a users had noticed that fingerprints can be used to unlock their phones in an extremely alarming security breach.
Google Pixel users were also left in a state of confusion after installing Android 13 as several of users were unable to charge wirelessly after installing the most recent operating system (OS).
