In a very cinematic style, ‘Kapu’ leader Mudragada Padmanabham was arrested today at his home, in Kirlampudi.After ‘Tuni’ massacre, Mudragada has become famous for his demands to include ‘Kapu’ community into the BC category for caste based reservations.
He started a Fast to Death movement and demanded the Andhra Pradesh Government to heed for his demands of terminating the cases on Kapu leaders who were involved in ‘Tuni’ massacre and including the ‘Kapu’ community into BC category for reservations.The government and ruling party ‘Kapu’ leaders have been opposing his demands and alleging him for being a ‘notorious’ leader who is looking to take advantage of a delicate situation.
Today, the Government decided to take the situation into their hands and not repeat the mistake of ‘Tuni’ incident.The police were all prepared and even CBCID was also involved into the matter.
At first, many supporters of Mudragada movement were arrested and taken to Rajamundry CID headquarters and then police went to Mudragada’s house to take him into custody.

Mudragada demanded the reason for his arrest and also a warrant explaining categorically, why he was been taken into custody.CBCID officers did produce few official letters, but Mr.Mudragada refused to co-operate with them, So the police broke into his house and took him into the van with much fanfare and mob surrounding them in protest.Keep Watching this space for further updates!
