Lukashenko, the President of Belarus, has been named the Person of the Year for 2021 by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project.This was in recognition of his contributions to organised crime and corruption.
Ghani deserves a prize, too.His incompetence and corruption were astounding.OCCRP said that he deserted his countrymen, leaving them in misery and to death.He wanted to live with corrupted former officials of the UAE’s moral labyrinth.
Drew Sullivan was a cofounder of OCCRP and served as a judge.
Other finalists are Bashar Hafez Al-Assad (Syrian dictator), Recip Tayyip Erdogan (Turkish President) and Sebastian Kurz (Austrian Chancellor).
Assad led Syria to civil war that ended in destruction and stole hundreds of millions of dollars, while he clung to power according OCCRP.
Erdogan oversaw a corrupt government, which used state-owned banks to launder Chinese money for Iranian oil.
Kurz, who was also the leader of Austrian People’s Party, (OVP), was charged with embezzlement as well as bribery, together with nine politicians and newspaper people.
OCCRP stated that Lukashenko has unlimited power in his country and is open to international criticism.
It was EU sanctions that led to his response via refugees.
According to the statement, he seemed equally indifferent about the sufferings of Belarusian citizens as well as desperate migrants.
This included children who are hungry, cold, and prevented from setting up home in Belarus.
The scandalous actions of Lukashenko over the last year have made headlines.
He channeled state money to several oligarchs who are close to his family.In violation of international aviation laws, he intercepted a Ryanair passenger aircraft carrying a Belarusian dissident, forcing it to land at Minsk.
OCCRP stated that he created a crisis bordering the European Union, luring thousands to its borders and spreading misinformation about Covid.
