Drone shoots down over Black Sea Fleet building in Crimea: Russia

Moscow 20 August : Russian authorities have reported that an explosion discovered on the Saturday following the fall of an unmanned drone that was shot down hit the building of the staff of the Black Sea Fleet in Crimea’s Sevastopol city.
The air defences of the fleet fired down the drone Mikhail Razvozhayev, the head of the local Russian administration in the city said in a statement that “it fell onto the roof and was burned” according to the DPA news agency.

There were no deaths.

Officials blamed Ukraine for the attack.

Videos and images that circulate through social media sites, and whose authenticity could not be independently verified and showed clouds of smoke rising in the sky after an explosion.

“Keep calm and stay at home during the next half hour, if you can,” Razvozhayev wrote on Telegram in which he said there were no serious damage.

According to Russian authorities, Moscow was forced to shoot drones in various places across the Black Sea peninsula over the recent days.

Sevastopol’s antiaircraft defence was in operation and did not miss the targets it was targeting, Razvozhayev said on Friday evening, saying there were multiple explosions in the city’s centre.

Unverified videos on social networks that were believed to be recorded in Yevpatoriya revealed traces of anti-aircraft fires across the city.

Drones were also reported to have been dropped on Kerch, the Crimean city of Kerch on Thursday.
