The first meeting of the committee appointed by the Center to resolve the pending partition issues between the Telugu states is coming up.The committee is scheduled to meet at 11 a.m.today.Home Secretary Ashish Kumar, Telangana Special Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao and AP Finance Chief Secretary SS Rawat will meet virtually on five issues.
Mainly Andhra Pradesh State Finance Corporation division, settlement of electricity arrears between AP and Telangana, settlement of tax disputes, division of cash deposits in banks and AP, Telangana cash credit issues will be discussed.
However, the controversy erupted before the meeting of the tripartite committee.
A total of 9 items were placed on the agenda of the meeting along with the special status of the first AP.With that came the special status item on the screen.But it immediately removed four items from it, including the status point and the tax deduction.
The Union Home Ministry has issued another circular amending the agenda.This led to a political debate.
