CCMB Director Dr Rakesh Mishra says it would take at least two years to get a complete vaccine.
People should prepare themselves to fight the novel Coronavirus without a vaccine, says the Director of city-based Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Dr Rakesh Mishra.
He said the people should not wait for the vaccine and believe not that a vaccine for Covid-19 arrives by the end of the year.
Dr Mishra is very clear about vaccines, and he doesn’t want to believe in the talks that a vaccine for Covid-19 will be available by this year-end or it may get by the middle of next year.
He said it has never happened in our history that a vaccine has arrived for a global pandemic right after doing the first trial.
The general public should be aware that the upcoming vaccines are all untested and it takes at least a couple of years to get the complete vaccine for Covid-19, said Dr Mishra.
He also said, if a vaccine arrives, there would be many unanswered questions about the resistance power to suppress the virus after six months. He re-iterated that a vaccine production takes several years and people must prepare themselves to fight the virus without a vaccine.
