New Delhi, Sep 13 : The forthcoming iOS 16 has a feature that allows iPhone users to install security patches without having to go through a full iOS update. They can also roll back security updates. The Rapid Security Response system in iOS 16 can install security patches without completely updating your iPhone or even having to restart the device in certain situations.
By default Rapid Security Responses are installed automatically, however Apple has created a method to disable them, as reported by MacRumors.
According to a support documentation the user can deactivate the Rapid Security Response update by going to Settings, General and About and then selecting to remove the security update.
According to Apple the users can return to the Rapid Security Response at a later time or wait to have it installed for the last time as part of an upgrade to software that is standard.
“It isn’t quite certain what the reasoning behind why it is that a Rapid Security Response would need to be eliminated however it’s great that users have the optionto opt out,” stated the report.
Security experts recommend not to disable the feature in the event of a legitimate reason for it, as cyber attacks are on the rise.
The Rapid Security Response system is also reported to be being added to macOS in Ventura.
