The state-wide 15–18-year-old Corona Vaccination program received a humongous response on Monday.The vaccination process started at ten o’clock in the morning and continued till night.
On the first day, 4,92,613 people were given Covaxin in vaccination centres set up under 15,000 village and ward secretariats in the state.
In some places health workers went to schools to give the vaccine.
While those who registered their names in the Cowin app were vaccinated directly, the rest were vaccinated by collecting the details of Aadhaar card and school identity card.This process will continue till 7th of this month.
The second dose will be given four weeks after the first dose.The government made 40 lakh Covaxin Shots ready though the target is 25 lakh people.
The government aims to vaccinate all the 25 lakh youth by 7th of this month.
The highest was done to 72,719 people in Chittoor district followed by Krishna district where 51,778 people were vaccinated, and East Godavari stands third by vaccinating 46,210.
The count the rest of the district is as follows Srikakulam (38,644), Nellore (39,759), West Godavari (39,193), Vizianagaram (23,573), YSR Kadapa (28,897), Anantapur (35,364), Kurnool (38,942), Prakasam (25,036), Guntur (29,004), Visakhapatnam (23,494).
