Sachdeva accused the government of blaming officials for hindering pollution control efforts and questioned their actions regarding the Real-Time Source Apportionment Study.

Sachdeva pointed out that Environment Minister Gopal Rai has accused DPCC Chairman Ashwani Kumar of stalling the study, yet, the same Minister had taken credit for clean air in Delhi earlier in the year.

He questioned how the stalling of this study since February 2023 could be responsible for the rise in winter pollution while the air remained clean during the summer months.

Sachdeva further expressed his confusion regarding why the Kejriwal government opposed the DPCC Chairman’s inquiries into the cost of the Real-Time Source Apportionment Study, which involves a significant expense of over Rs.13 crore.

Additionally, he brought up the issue of the wastage of Rs.23 crore on a Smog Tower project that was closed within two years, emphasising the need for more scientific studies in such initiatives.
