Telangana : EC transfers 4 district collectors, 13 senior police officials

In a significant administrative reshuffling ahead of the November 30 Assembly elections in Telangana, the Election Commission on Wednesday, October 11, has mandated the transfer of multiple officials, which includes four District Collectors, three Police Commissioners, 10 district Superintendents of Police, and several others.

The Election Commission has called on the state government to present a panel of officers by Thursday evening for the purpose of making alternative appointments.

In addition, they have instructed the state government not to assign any election-related duties to these officers until the ongoing electoral process is completed.

Specifically, the Election Commission has issued orders for the transfer of the following officials:

  • Rangareddy Collector M.V.Bhoopal Reddy
  • Medchal Malkajgiri Collector D.Amoy Kumar
  • Yadadri Bhuvanagiri Collector Vinay Krishna Reddy
  • Nirmal Collector Varun Reddy
  • Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V.Anand
  • Warangal Commissioner A.V.Ranganath
  • Nizamabad Commissioner V.Satyanarayana

Furthermore, Superintendents of Police in ten districts have also been transferred:

  • Sangareddy’s M.Ramana Kumar
  • Kamareddy’s B.Srinivas Reddy
  • Jagityal’s A.Bhaskar
  • Mahabubnagar’s K.Narasimha
  • Nagarkurnool’s K.Manohar
  • Jogulamba Gadwal’s K.Srujana
  • Mahbubabad’s G.Chandramohan
  • Narayanpet’s N.Venkateswarlu
  • Jayashankar Bhupalapally’s P.Karunakar
  • Suryapet’s Rajender Prasad

Additionally, Director of Excise and Prohibition Musharraf Ali, Transport Secretary Srinivasa Raju, and Commercial Tax Commissioner T.K.Sridevi have also been transferred.

The Election Commission’s decision to transfer these officials follows certain complaints that had been lodged against them.

A delegation from the Election Commission, led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, had previously visited the state for three days earlier this month.
