Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday virtually disbursed YSR Vahana Mitra funds Vidyadharapuram Stadium in Vijayawada into the accounts of autorickshaw, mini taxi cab drivers across the state.
The beneficiary accounts for the YSR Vahana Mitra scheme credited by Chief Minister through pressing a button.
The YSR Vahana Mitra Scheme was introduced by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to provide support to self-employed individuals who rely on driving auto, taxi, maxi cab drivers, and MDU operators who own their own vehicles.
The Chief Minister has deposited Rs 275.93 crore into the accounts of 2,75,931 beneficiaries, each one getting Rs 10,000 under the YSR Vahana Mitra scheme in its phase 5.
The state government is providing a financial of Rs 10,000 per annum to drivers of autorickshaws, taxis, maxi cabs, and mobile dispensing units to help them get insurance coverage, fitness certificates,s, etc.The scheme is applicable to those who have their own vehicles.
The government has so far extended financial assistance of Rs 1,301.89 crore.This includes a disbursal of Rs 275.93 crore on Friday under the YSR Vahana Mitra scheme.So far, each driver has gotten the benefit of Rs 50,000 over the last 50 months of the YSRCP rule.
The YSRC government’s main objective in launching the YSR Vahana Mitra is to help drivers keep their vehicles in good condition by taking up regular maintenance and doing requisite repair work.
The state government has set up a toll-free number 1902 for the YSR Vahana Mitra in order to receive advice, suggestions, and complaints from the general public.
The number of beneficiaries under YSR Vahana Mitra for the year 2023-24 based on their social group include: SCs-67,513; STs-11,479; BCs-1,51,271; Minorities (Muslims, Christians)-5,100; Kapus-25,046 and others-15,504.
