Raghava Lawrence, the Tamil actor and director who is known for his horror-comedy films, recently visited superstar Rajinikanth at his residence and sought his blessings for his upcoming film ‘Chandramukhi 2’.He also congratulated Rajinikanth for the phenomenal success of his latest film ‘Jailer’.
Raghava Lawrence shared a video of his meeting with Rajinikanth on his X account, which was formerly called Twitter.He wrote: “Hi friends and fans,
“Today I met my Thalaivar and Guru @rajinikanth to wish him for jailer’s blockbuster success and got blessings for #Chandramukhi2 release on September 28th.I’m so happy.”
He ended his post with: “Thalaivar is always great.Guruve Saranam'”
In the video, Raghava Lawrence can be seen wearing a white kurta and dhoti and touching Rajinikanth’s feet with utmost respect and devotion.Rajinikanth smiles and blesses him warmly.The two then hug each other and pose for a photo.
Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’ was a huge hit at the box office and received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike.It surpassed the collections of other blockbuster films like ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘Oh My God 2’ by a large margin.
‘Chandramukhi 2’ is a sequel to the 2005 film ‘Chandramukhi’, which starred Rajinikanth in the lead role.The film was directed by P Vasu and was a remake of the Malayalam film ‘Manichitrathazhu’.The sequel, however, has no connection with the original film.
Raghava Lawrence plays the role of Vettiyan, a modern-day reincarnation of an ancient king who also had the same name.He moves into a palace that is haunted by the spirit of Chandramukhi, a beautiful and vengeful dancer who was in love with the old king.
Chandramukhi is played by Kangana Ranaut, who also showcases her sword-fighting skills in the film.
The film alternates between the past and the present, as Chandramukhi tries to take revenge on Vettiyan for betraying her.The film also has elements of comedy and horror, as Raghava Lawrence is known for.
‘Chandramukhi 2’ is slated to release on September 28, 2023.
