Sajjala said that Construction of houses for the poor in the R-5 Zone will be completed in six months.

Ramakrishna Reddy, along with housing minister Jogi Ramesh, social welfare minister Merugu Nargarjuna and Housing MD Lakshmisha, visited Venkatapalem in Amaravati to inspect the arrangements being made for the launch of the housing construction programme by Chief Minister Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday.

The government adviser underlined that the houses constructed for the poor with all facilities will be on par with those built in private layouts.

Construction of these houses will create a cumulative wealth of 10,000 crore for the poor in Amaravati, he pointed out.

Reflecting on opposition to construction of the houses, he asked whether building houses for poor in Amaravati is a crime? He pointed out that the CRDA Act itself says five percent of the land acquired in Amaravati is to be given to the poor.
