BRS leader Dasoju Sravan on Friday claimed that unidentified persons claiming to be followers of TPCC chief and MP A Revanth Reddy called him at midnight and threatened him of dire consequences for making comments against Revanth Reddy.“I will approach the police and urge them to bring all these persons to the book and take action against them as per the law,” Sravan tweeted on Friday.
Responding to the tweet, BRS party working president and Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao urged the Home Minister and DGP Telangana to take swift action on the callers.
“I request Home Minister @mahmoodalibrs Garu and @TelanganaDGP Garu to kindly take this matter seriously and act sternly and swiftly as per law It’s truly unfortunate that Scamgress now has been handed over to a thug in Telangana who is resorting to open threats,” he tweeted.
In reply , Home Minister Mahmood Ali assured of action.” Noted @KTRBRS Garu, action will be initiated as per law,” he tweeted, tagging the DGP Telangana and Hyderabad CP CV Anand.
In response to Mahmood Ali’s tweet, Anand replied, “Noted sir.We will initiate action immediately.” It was learnt that the issue was directed to the cybercrime wing of Hyderabad city police and a case is being registered for further investigation.
Shravan was one of the BRS leaders who came down heavily on the PCC president for stating that power supply to farm sector should be restricted to three hours.
Reacting to the threat calls, Sravan said, “I will request an investigation into these threatening calls to identify the culprits and ensure that they face legal consequences.It is unfortunate that Revanth Reddy has been involved in promoting a culture of intimidation and rowdy politics in Telangana.
This is not the first time he has used such tactics,” adding that Revanth had previously resorted to such tactics by holding out similar threats to senior leaders in his own party including the likes of V Hanumanth Rao, Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jagga Reddy.
