Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a popular Indian actress, has decided to take a break from her film career for a year to focus on her health.According to sources, Samantha is currently working on a film called “Kushi” with Vijay Deverakonda.
The shooting for this film will be completed in a couple of days, marking the end of her current commitments.Additionally, she is almost finished with her work on the project “Citadel” and will soon be free from all professional obligations.
The reason behind Samantha’s decision to take a break is her health.Towards the end of 2022, she disclosed that she had been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis, and has been undergoing treatment since then.
Samantha plans to utilize this break to focus on her well-being and receive further medical care.In order to fulfill her commitment to prioritizing her health, she has even returned the advance payments to the producers of the films she was previously associated with.
Recently, Samantha visited the Church of Saint Sava in Belgrade, where she prayed on the one-year anniversary of her diagnosis.She expressed her thoughts on Instagram, reflecting on the challenges she has faced over the past year, including adhering to strict dietary restrictions, taking medications, and experiencing periods of forced rest and recovery.
She acknowledged the lessons she has learned during this time, such as accepting that not everything goes according to plan and understanding the importance of controlling what is within her reach.Samantha emphasized the significance of moving forward step by step, cherishing love and loved ones, and not allowing negativity to affect her.
During an interview for her film “Yashoda,” Samantha discussed her journey of recovery from Myositis.She clarified that while there are good and bad days, she remains determined to fight the condition.Samantha also addressed the misconceptions surrounding her health, asserting that Myositis is not a life-threatening condition but rather an autoimmune ailment that can be draining and tiring.
She shared the challenges she faced during the recovery phase, admitting that it was a difficult and dark time, with a major portion of her day consumed by high-dose medications and visits to doctors.
Samantha acknowledged that it is alright to have unproductive days, to experience setbacks, and to be vulnerable and unwell.
