The Kerala Story is going big at the box office.The controversial film has created quite a flutter among audiences who see it as a ratification of their fears and insecurities.
Whether the content is right or wrong is debatable, but the production values and performances leave a lot to be desired.But the audience which thrives on such content, is least bothered about the quality of the film and are thronging to theaters in huge numbers.
The film collected Rs 8 crore on the first day, Rs 11 crore on the second day, and about Rs 15 crore on Sunday.Recently, the film has been stopped screening in Kerala and some parts of Tamil Nadu as theatre owners fear vandalism.
Event the West Bengal government has banned the movie screening in the State.
However, on the other extreme, in states like BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh, the government is encouraging even small kids including young girls to watch this film in theaters.
The film has been certified with an A certificate by the censor board as the film has gruesome scenes of violence, murder, and rape.It is no less than a joke that the government is asking children to watch this film as it suits their agenda.
The BJP-ruled have even made ‘The Kerala Story’ tax-free which is expected to give a further boost to the collections.The film is inching towards becoming a blockbuster.
