The Income Tax officials have been carrying out raids on the offices of Mythri Movie Makers and their partner Sukumar, a film director for the last six days.There are allegations that the movie production house is involved in money laundering and book tampering.
The IT raids were concluded last night reportedly.
There are also rumors that two MLAs have diverted their ill-gotten wealth to Mythri.
We have seen a Janasena leader complaining to the department about Balineni Srinivas Reddy and Talasani Srinivas Yadav’s illegal funding in the production house.
The department did not make any official announcement regarding the raids or the findings giving rise to more rumors.
The raids happening for six days added fuel to the speculations.Raids also concluded at the offices of Sukumar who is directing Pushpa 2 for Mythri and a partner in some production ventures of the production house.
Speculations surrounding investment regulations and funding from politicians have been swirling around Mythri Movie Makers for some time now.The production house, known for its big line-up of movies including “Pushpa 2,” “Ustaad Bhagat Singh,” “NTR31,” and “RC16,” has been under the scanner of the authorities.
“We are clear as the company has a clean record of IT, TDS, GST, and everything in time.There are no big issues found in this raid,” sources close to the company said.
However, following the raids, there have been no official announcements regarding the outcomes which keeps the speculations alive.
