The Bollywood song ‘Main Aisa Kyun Hoon’ from the movie Lakshya is known for its catchy beat, memorable lyrics, and electrifying dance moves by Hrithik Roshan.Recently, in an interview with O2india, dance legend Prabhudeva shared that he completed the entire choreography for the song in just one hour.
Prabhudeva explained that director Farhan Akhtar had booked his dates a year ahead, and he was surprised by the detailed planning that went into the shoot.Praising Hrithik Roshan’s performance, Prabhudeva said, “Hrithik was magical.Shankar Mahadevan’s composition was fantastic.Full credit must be given to Hrithik.Whatever I did looked nice on screen. He was too good.”
Prabhudeva recalled, “We did the entire choreography within one hour. The song was so inspiring that I could visualize it perfectly in my mind.We blocked it for one hour, and I did it in one hour.” This one-hour choreography earned Prabhudeva his second National Film Award for Best Choreography.
Prabhudeva had a unique experience while working with the non-Indian cinematographer Christopher Popp, who was responsible for the cinematography of the movie.Popp asked specific details, such as how high Prabhudeva would jump and how many feet he would travel, which seemed strange to him.Prabhudeva spoke to Farhan Akhtar, the director, about this, pointing out that they have their own ways of working as Indians.Farhan then took over handling the cinematographer, as Popp’s methods were different from what they were used to.
Overall, ‘Main Aisa Kyun Hoon’ remains a beloved Bollywood song, and Prabhudeva’s one-hour choreography is a testament to his talent and creativity.Hrithik Roshan’s mesmerizing performance and Shankar Mahadevan’s fantastic composition make the song unforgettable.
