Priyanka Chopra is set to star in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series, Citadel, which is directed by the Russo Brothers. The show also features Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci.
In a recent interview, Chopra revealed that she performed the majority of the action scenes herself, and her previous experience in Bollywood action films helped her during the filming.
Citadel is about two elite agents, Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh, played by Madden and Chopra respectively, who escape from the Citadel, a global spy agency, and start new lives under different identities.
They have no memory of their past until one day when Mason is approached by his former colleague, Bernard Orlick, played by Tucci, for help in stopping rival agency Manticore from taking over the world.
Chopra stated that she is confident in performing action scenes as she has done many action films in Bollywood.
The stunt team for Citadel is from the Russo Brothers, who are known for working with the best in the industry, and Chopra learned a lot from them. She did nearly 80% of the stunts herself, and the action scenes in the show are different from what she has done before.
During the promotion of the show, both Chopra and Madden attended a press conference in Mumbai. At that time, Richard Madden expressed his interest in working in a Bollywood film, while Priyanka Chopra talked about how her selection process for projects has evolved over time.
Citadel, which is produced by Amazon Studios and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO, will premiere its first two episodes on April 28th on Prime Video in 40 languages, with more episodes to be released later.
