Mumbai 13th of September : Megastar Amitabh Bachchan was in awe of visually impaired “Kaun banega Crorepati 14 contestant Aneri Arya from Surat and kept praising her for her intelligent thinking abilities and the ease with the way she took on the reality show.Despite the difficulties that have to be overcome with her handicap, Aneri finally managed to take home Rs 25 lakh in the show.
She chose the right answer that was presented to her to answer the following question: in 1967, the people of which state were against joining Maharashtra by way of referendum? The options she was offered were (A) Belagavi (B) Kutch (C) Goa and (D) Junagadh and she decided to go with Goa and that was the correct choice.
Although it was a crucial moment for her, Big B left his seat to give her the glass of water.
But she found the right answer and got at least Rs 25 lakh.
In a discussion about the winning prize during the competition, Aneri said: “When Amitabh sir announced that I had won 25 lakh rupees I had to take several minutes to comprehend the reality.When I finally understood that I had answered correctly all my life’s challenges came to a halt like a train of thoughts through my mind and I felt overwhelmed.”
A native of Surat the 26-year-old “KBC 14 contestant is an assistant professor of English at Shree Bhaikaka Sochitra Government Arts and Science College.
She also acknowledged her parents for helping her to write and read and that is the reason she doesn’t use Braille but instead uses the aid of AI software.Both Big B and Aneri also have praised Gujarati cuisine.
“I felt my parents, who were seated next to me, were happy of me , and I could see their affectionate eye towards me,” she said, recalling her experiences.
“It was an incredible experience, one that I’m not sure I’ll remember in my life.My ambitions of continuing my studies have been fulfilled with this amount of money and I’m sure I’ve done my family and friends feel proud.It’s definitely one of the most memorable moments in my life thus far.”
