New Delhi, Sep 13 : There was an absolute disengagement of Indian and Chinese forces at a crucial moment of tension in the Ladakh sector, sources from the government reported on Tuesday.The process, which began on September 8, following months of discussions and 16 rounds of Corps Commander meetings, according to sources, will see both parties relocating after their clash in May 2020.
Both sides have confirmed their positions at LAC by the commanders on the ground according to the sources.
According to sources according to the sources, both India and China have withdrawn their troops on the frontline from the face-off area of PP-15 in the Gogra-Hotsprings region in the eastern part of Ladakh and demolished temporary infrastructure as part of the five-day disengagement process.
Sources close to developments claimed that all the information of the disengagement as well as the verification was conducted by the ground commanders.
When asked about the disengagement at PP-15 on the outskirts of the event Army Chief General Manoj Pande was quoted as saying: “I will have to look over the situation and make a decision.But the process (disengagement process) is running according to time and according to what was determined.”
