Blue bloc of the opposition is leading in Swedish Parliamentary polls

Stockholm 12th of September : The preliminary results of the 2022 Swedish elections to the Swedish parliament announced on Monday revealed that the blue bloc, which was the main opposition party, won 49.7 percent of votes.It was a narrow leading in the polls.
The blue bloc is comprised of the Moderate Party, the Christian Democrats The Liberal Party and the Sweden Democrats The report comes from Xinhua news agency.

The red bloc of the Social Democratic Party, the Left Party, the Green Party as well as the Centre Party gained 48.8 per percent of the votes cast in the polls on Sunday.

The top three largest parties include the Social Democratic Party, the Sweden Democrats and the Moderate Party, with 30.5, 20.7 and 19 percent respectively.

With 92 percent of the ballots counted the blue bloc had won 173 parliamentary seats compared to 176 in the red bloc, placing the results of the elections on the edge of a knife.

There are 349 seats in the Swedish Parliament, and votes cast outside of the country will be counted in the coming week.

“As as the issue of the government there’s still a lot to be done before we can draw any definitive conclusions,” Swedish Television’s political commentator Mats Knutson was quoted as saying.

The preliminary statistics also revealed that 81.3 percent of the electorate took part in the parliamentary elections of this year approximately 5 per cent lower than the last election in the year 2018.

The energy crisis along with immigration, and social security are three main concerns Sweden’s 7.77 million registered voters were most worried about in this election.
