S. Korea’s Covid-19 cases drop to a two-month low amid Chuseok holiday.

Seoul 11th September : New cases of Covid-19 dropped to a near two-month low on the Sunday due to the absence of tests during the Chuseok holiday in the midst of the slowing of the spread of the virus in recent weeks.
The country has reported 28,214 new Covid-19 cases including 228 cases that came from overseas The total number of cases to 24,004,887, according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) stated.

Sunday’s total was a dramatic drop from Saturday’s 42.7224 during the Chuseok holiday, which is the Korean harvest celebration of the fall.The holiday began on Friday and will continue until Monday, Yonhap news agency reported.

The count was also the lowest since the 18th of July when the number climbed to 26,275.

For Sundays it was the lowest level since July 10, when the total was at 20,383.

South Korea added 47 Covid-19 deaths on Sunday in comparison with 48 deaths on Saturday.

The death toll was 27,476.

The number of critically ill patients was 532, which is up from 525.

Daily cases have been declining steadily after a peak of 180,000 in mid-August in the most recent resurgence of the virus.

The government has urged for extra caution against the virus because the nation is experiencing high traveling throughout the Chuseok holiday.

Koreans usually return to their home towns to attend reunions with their families.
