New Delhi, Sep 11 : The President of India Droupadi Murmu is nominating Ghulam Ali for Rajya Sabha on Saturday. “The President of India has appointed Gulam Ali as a member of the Council of States,” according to the gazette that was issued in this respect.
The BJP’s IT Cell head Amit Malviya was awed by the decision and tweeted, “The President on recommendation of GoI has appointed Shri Gulam Ali an Gurjar Muslim from J&K to the Rajya Sabha.This is an extremely important move assuming that prior to the abrogation of Article 370, the community was not recognized and any social benefits available to them were excluded.”
Ghulam Ali is a resident of Bathindi in Jammu.He is affiliated with the BJP for the past 24 years.
He is in the party’s SC/ST Cell and is also a spokesperson.
