The same Centre has imposed an export tax on rice exports claiming that the stocks of foodgrains in the country are declining.

This is a clear indication of the failure of the policy of the Central government in the purchase of grain for food, he said.

He demanded that the union minister of food and distribution PiyushGoyal to put in place the one-nation and one policy for the procurement of food grains.

Rama Rao said the Narendra Modi-led government that has already put restrictions on the export of wheat and wheat-based products, recently imposed a 20 percent tariff on rice exports, and also imposed a ban on export of broken rice, as well.

KTR stated that the Modi government took this decision because of the drastic decrease in stock of foodstuffs in FCI godowns and in various centers.

The TRS leader said that the main reason for the current situation of things is the Centre’s insufficient of knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the people and the absence of an explicit purchase policy for food grains.

“In an attempt to paint Telangana as a failing state, the Modi government was caught in its own trap.Six months ago when the Telangana government pleaded with the Central government to purchase grain products from the state and the Centre immediately refused, saying the country had more reserves than it needs.

This same Central government has also imposed restrictions on exports of food grains in the present,” said KTR, asking for an explanation from the Central minister.

KTR KTR, who is also a state cabinet minister, has said the food security of India is in danger due to the discrimination of the Modi government against Telangana state and its farmers.

“The situation with food grains is clear that the Modi government has no long-term strategy for the nation’s food needs. It is unfortunate for the people that the ineffective BJP administration at the Center does not have any idea about the welfare and development of the population nor does it have a long-term planin place,” Minister Isaiah sneezed.

He claimed that six months back the Union Minister PiyushGoyal addressed the very disrespectful Telangana team who visited Delhi with an invitation to purchase paddy that was grown in the state.

KTR has criticized the Modi government’s inability to implement an extensive food grain procurement policy for India.

In the absence of adequate food security in the country with huge populations shows the lack of vision of the BJP government.

He demanded that the Central government to change its policies and prioritize the people’s welfare of the people as well as food security.

He declared that the Telangana government has always pushed for one nation , one procurement policy to achieve this goal. However, the Central government has been creating plenty of problems for the farmers by failing to implement a specific and concise policy regarding the procurement of grain.

The Centre is giving more importance to politics rather than having a reliable procurement policy. This is the reason why we are facing a food grain crisis today.

The Minister demanded that the BJP-led Central government, to ensure the security of food of all the inhabitants of the nation, must put aside politics and make independent decisions.

KTR advised Piyush Goyal to take steps to obtain the whole grain of food from states such as Telangana that produce food grains in huge quantities.
