Los Angeles, Sep 10 : “Mahabharata,” that was a generation of Indians was raised watching in Doordarshan and will return with modern design and on a global platformthe streaming service Disney+ Hotstar.It was one of three Indian films that were announced at the world-renowned Disney fan gathering D23 Expo in Los Angeles as reported by the ‘Variety’.”Mahabharata” is being produced by Madhu Mantena Ram Gopal Verma’s niece and Anurag Kashyap’s former partner, Mythoversestudios as well as Allu Entertainment.
The other announcements made were the return of Karan Johar’s famous chat show “Koffee With Karan’ for Season 8, following a hugely successful Season 7.The show is created by Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Anisha Baig for Dharmatic Entertainment Production.
Johar, Mehta and Somen Mishra are also directing the drama series ‘Showtime’, set in Bollywood.
According to the Dharmatic director, “will lift the curtain on the industry’s most important trade secrets”.

Disney+ Hotstar India’s Director of Content Gaurav Banerjee said: “Over the last several years, India has emerged as a major player in the field of content that is pushing the boundaries with stories that cross language and boundaries.”
