Damascus 9 Sep : Russian airstrikes on positions of the al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front in northwestern Syria reported to have killed 120 rebels.The Russian warplanes targeted the Nusra Front training camp in the Sheikh Youssef area of Idlib province and destroyed observation points, drones and missile launchers, the state news agency SANA quoted Russian military sources in Syria as saying, Xinhua news agency reported.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights is a British-based war monitor also reported on the Russian airstrikes in Idlib and said that Russian warplanes conducted 14 airstrikes in the area on Thursday and fired one surface-to surface missile at areas controlled by rebels in the province.
Occupied by a range of rebel groups that include ultra-radical groups like Nusra Front, Idlib has become the most prominent resistance home base in Syria.
