Moscow 7th September : Western nations are harming everyone, even their own people in attempts to maintain the global power that is slowly falling away from their grasps, Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated, a news report said.The current world economic crisis was brought on by “Western elites who do not, or perhaps cannot, accept objective facts” about global trends, Putin said during a speech at an economic gathering in Vladivostok on Wednesday.RT reported.
The leaders in the US and their allies are trying to maintain “the global order” that only benefits them, requiring everyone else to adhere to the rules that they created and often break and alter depending on the current situation,” he added, RT said.
In the face of opposition from nations who aren’t willing to bend to their wishes and demands, the US and allies “lash out” and make unwise decisions that harm not just the dissidents, but their own countries, Putin stated, noting an “growing disengagement” of Western elites from the people.
The Russian President cited the rising inflation in the EU as the most eloquent instance, pointing out that the living standards of living in the EU were being sacrificed for American interests.
“The EU authorities are denying European companies access to energy, raw materials and markets” through the decision to separate from Russia, Putin said.
In the meantime, Russia, the target of Western sanctions and other kinds of unfair competition, is doing very well, Putin said.
The country is blessed with a minimal level of inflation, which is trending down, unemployment is at an all-time low and other indicators of macroeconomic stability he said.
Certain, Russian businesses that depended on the EU were affected but, overall the country was able to come to terms with the Western “aggression”, Putin declared, RT reported.
The Russian President spoke during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.The annual event aims at building closer relations in the region.
