New Delhi, Sep 5 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday felicitated Liz Truss for being chosen as the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
In an Instagram post, Modi wished her the best of luck as she assumed the new role and the responsibilities.
“Congratulations @trussliz on being selected to become the next PM of the UK.I am confident that under your leadership the partnership between the UK and India will be developed.I wish you all the best in your new position and duties,” he tweeted.
In the earlier hours in the morning, Truss – United Kingdom’s foreign secretary – was declared the winner of the election for Conservative Party leader.
She defeated the former Chancellor of Exchequer Rishi Sunak, and thus making her eligible to be the next UK Prime Minister.
