Chennai 3rd September : The studio of director Mani Ratnam’s awaited magnum opus”Ponniyin Sevan,” on Saturday, announced actress Aishwarya Lekshmi’s outfit as Samudrakumari’s Poonguzhali in the movie.On Twitter, Lyca Productions, which is producing the film with director Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies, said: “Soft as the wind, as powerful like the ocean! Meet AishwaryaLekshmi in the role of Samudrakumari Poonguzhali!”
The studio, in its tweet, confirmed that a major audio launch and trailer of the movie was scheduled planned to be held on September 6 in the Nehru Indoor Stadium.
In the past, the production house had also revealed the appearances of Sarathkumar as well as Parthiban in the movie.The house of production had also introduced their characters by saying: “Meet the fearless protectors of Chola pride! The show features Sarathkumar as Periya Pazhuvettarayar and R.Parthiepan as Chinna Pazhuvettarayar!”
The movie, which is the initial part of which will be released on September 30th, is based upon the classic Tamil novel “Ponniyin Sevan” written by renowned writer Kalki.
The fascinating story, which is based on the childhood of Prince Arulmozhi Varman who later was to be referred to as the legendary Raja Raja Chozhan, is one of one of a one of a kind.
The film, described by Mani Ratnam as his dream film, has a cast of famous actors like Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Jayaram, Parthiban, Lal, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prabhu and Prakash Raj.
The project is expected to be one of the most expensive projects ever carried out in the country.
The film is among the top in business management in all of the departments.A.R.Rahman composes the soundtrack for this epic historical film and the cinematography is done by Ravi Varman.National Award winning art director Thotta Tharani is in charge of production design, while Mani Ratnam’s trusted editor Sreekar Prasad is handling its editing.
