Mumbai 3rd Sep : Rajat Dahiya had to shed 18kgs of weight in order to portray the role of 30-year-old Gopal in the television show “Sanjog” with Kamya Panjabi.The actor who played a large middle-aged man in his last show “Tujhse Hai Raabta,” must put in lots of effort to portray the persona of an athletic young man in his current show.
He revealed: “I had to put in an enormous amount of effort to portray the role of Gopal due to the fact that earlier in “Tujhe Ha Raabta I was an older man of 55 who was a hefty.In Sanjog I’m playing a fit man in his 30s.”
Rajat decided to follow strict diet and regular workout to achieve the type of physique required to play his part.
“So in order to become Gopal’s style I exercised frequently for 3-4 months while adhering to a strict and consistent diet.
Through this, I’ve been able to shed close to 15 to 18kgs of weight and have maintained my appearance ever since.
“I just hope that the people will be impressed with me in this new look and shower me with plenty of gratitude and love,” he added.
“Sanjog” is a tale of two mothers, Amrita and Amrita and Gauri, performed by Shefali Sharma and Gauri played by Kamya Panjabi.They take care of their daughters, yet they are totally different in their attitude and behavior to life.
