Mumbai 3rd Sep : Awarded actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has started work on the film “Haddi,” in which the actor will play transgender characters, and discussed his experiences of working with female directors.Nawaz went on to discuss the distinctions in male and female filmmakers.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui made his name with “Peepli Live,” with director Anusha Rizvi.He collaborated with Director Debamitra Biwal on “Motichoor” Chaknachoor’ .Nawazuddin has been given the extremely challenging role of the prolific writer Manto in Nandita Das’s directorial project.
He has also collaborated with Zoya Akhtar in “Bombay Talkies,” an collection of four stories which explore how films impact on the lives of people from all tiers of society.
He also collaborated on “Talaash” with Reema Kagti.
Nawaz said: “I have worked with many famous female directors, and this has helped me tremendously.I came to realize that women see the world in a different way.They are more compassionate and find beauty in everything.”
“For the majority of men it’s usually about control and power.This also shows in the relationships we have with each other.
Men tend to be more controlling and unfriendly.adhikaar jatana hai.Auraton par bhi.The female gaze is more gentle and gentle.I’m trying to find the POV (point of view) right.”
In terms of work Nawaz has an intriguing lineup of films that include “Tiku Weds Weru, “Noorani Chehra’ and ‘Adbhut’, among others.
