New Delhi, Sep 2 : With the issuance of over 53 lakh Aadhaar in July of this year, Aadhaar saturation level among adults is now close to universal and the overall level of saturation is 93.41 percent.According to the Ministry of IT, at least 26 states and UTs are now at an attestation of more than 90 percent.The majority of the Aadhaars generated in July was of children under the age of 18 years (0-18 age group).
The ministry noted that the registration, use and adoption is advancing well across India and at the end of July 2022 over 134.11 crore Aadhaar numbers have been issued to date for residents.
Residents have successfully completed the update of 1.47 million Aadhaars in July.of July.And, till the close of July 63.55 million Aadhaar numbers have been updated successfully following requests from residents.
These updates are connected to demographic and biometric updates made in both the physical Aadhaar centers, and utilising the internet-based Aadhaar platform.
In July, 152.5 crore authentication transactions were conducted through Aadhaar.
The majority of these monthly transactions were made with biometric fingerprint authentication (122.57 crore) followed by demographic authentications.
At the end of July 2022, a total of 7,855.24 crore Aadhaar-based authentications have been completed, compared to 7,702.74 crore authentications at the end of June.
Aadhaar an electronic infrastructure of good governance, is a driver of the convenience of living and the ease of conducting business.
Digital IDs are assisting various departments and ministries in the Centre and states in increasing efficiency, transparency and the delivery of social services to people who are targeted for benefits.
About 900 welfare and social programs in the country that are run by the Centre as well as states have been instructed to make use of Aadhaar to the date.
