Los Angeles, Sep 2 : Pop star Olly Murs has renounced alcohol in the past 12 months, claiming it could cause him to become “a bit crazy”.The ‘Heart Skips A Beat’ singer who made waves on ‘The X-Factor’ in 2009, shared: “I’ve not been drinking for a whole year.I’ve done 365 days.It’s just a personal thing.I enjoy small wins.”
Murs admitted that overindulging in alcohol “can cause bad things happening” according to femalefirst.co.uk.
He said to MailOnline: “I’m not someone who has ever had a problem with drinking – it was something I I wanted to do to do for a year and push myself.I do believe that drinking can cause bad things occurring.”
However, Murs would’ve loved to have had a drink with his friends when he was engaged to his wife Amelia Tank earlier this year.
When asked whether he had any regrets about drinking, Olly replied: “I don’t really miss it.When we first got engaged , I was devastated that I couldn’t enjoy one of my favourite drinks.”
Murs has become more conscious of his health since he began dating Amelia.
While his wife is a fitness enthusiast, Murs previously shared that he still enjoys snacking on unhealthy snacks.
In a post about his lockdown experience, he confessed in an Instagram Live: “I have this issue that Amelia will open the bag of Maltesers Buttons.She’ll have three or four but I’ll get the whole pack.
“I am not disciplined enough.I can’t put it on the side.After I’ve opened it,, I must complete the contents.
“Being at home the fridge has turned into an ideal friend for everyone of us, especially when we’re feeling bored.What’s happened is that I’m home, I’m more likely to battle my own demons.I believe that if I’m able to do it in my home I’m able to do it wherever.I’m being good.”
