Guwahati 1st September : Senior IAS officer Paban Kumar Borthakur, on Thursday, was appointed the Chief Secretary of Assam succeeding Jishnu Barua, who resigned from service on Wednesday.Borthakur was a 1989 batch IAS officer, was the Additional Chief Secretary before his promotion to the highest official position.
In the meantime, Barua would continue as the chairman of the Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL) for the duration of two years or until the next order an official told.
