By Ashe O Washington 1st of September : The former US President Donald Trump is likely to have stowed documents of classified documents which were seized in FBI raids on his Mar-a-Lago residence, in multiple locations across the nation in an apparent effort to bargain with the DOJ and the FBI to avoid prosecution According to Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen.
Trump might be hiding classified papers in his children’s houses and the Trump Towers in lower Manhattan in New York and several other locations according to Trump.
Cohen has also suggested that Trump might be looking for an excuse for any crimes discovered by the Mar-a-Lago raid, including his lawyer of the past, Rudy Giuliani.He also speculated that Trump likely kept the classified documents as a “bargaining chip,” so he could threaten the release of classified information to America’s adversaries as a “get-out-of-jail-free card”.
Cohen responded via Twitter to an article by The Washington Post on the Department of Justice’s court filing in which it claimed that Trump’s team might have hidden or moved top-secret documents when officials were looking into the issue.
“I think Trump has copies, and possibly other documents too in other places, such as his children’s homes Weisselberg’s Florida home, Bedminster, NJ golf course, Fifth Avenue apartment, etc,” .” he tweeted.Allen Weisselberg is the Trump Organization’s former CFO.
Media reports say that Trump is frightened by the release by the Department of Justice of the images of raids and the seizure of classified papers from his winter residence which show FBI agents moving in and out with boxes of documents.MSNBC’s John Heilemann colorfully described Donald Trump’s nervous behavior in anticipation of an Department of Justice filing that ended his legal defense in the Mar-A-Lago search.
The 40-page document asserts that Trump is not entitled to seek relief for classified documents seized by FBI agents due to the fact that they belong to the National Archives, and not Trump, and the prosecutors presented the evidence to show of he and his lawyers obstructed the investigation.
“DOJ veterans claim Trump cannot escape from the trap of lying, stealing and blocking.It appears they do not have any legal options left” Heilemann said.”I’m not an attorney but the lawyer I spoke with told me that the situation is about to worsen for them.
“What is the result? is that, in the end, is still a issue of the actions of AG Merrick Garland will do is he planning to bring charges against Donald Trump? There was some debate among prosecutors however, If he received the documents classified back the documents could have served its purpose and they would not be in danger.Perhaps he will not proceed with the case.”
During the investigation of Mar-a-Lago on the night of August 8th on, the FBI confiscated 11 sets of classified documents that were classified as “top confidential” as well as files that could be related to nuclear weapons.In accordance with the warrant the DOJ is investigating whether Trump violated one of three federal laws including the Espionage Act – by keeping the documents at Mar-a-Lago the private club of his in Palm Beach, Florida.

It is not clear if the ex-president ever created copies of these documents, or if the copies are kept at the former president’s other residences.
A representative of Trump’s post-presidential press aide was not immediately available to comment from Insider.
Cohen was Trump’s attorney and friend for more than a decade.
In the year 2018, he was the subject of an investigation of his office and home as part of an investigation by Trump into illegal hush-money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels.Cohen was found guilty in 2018 to felonies, including tax avoidance, violations of campaign finance as well as bank fraud.
He was sentenced in December 2018 to three years in prison, and then disbarred in February 2019 by New York Supreme Court.
