Mumbai Sep 1, : actor Pankaj Dheer says that it is common with actors in the industry that they are typecast and then asked to play similar types of roles.Pankaj who has also been involved in Hindi film like “Sadak,” “Soldier,” and “Baadshah,” finds it difficult to be pigeonholed, but is determined to complete his job and devote everything to his character.
“It’s sad that we frequently are portrayed as an individual character only to end up doing the same roles, but as an actor, I’m willing to perform my duties and do whatever my character requires,” said the father of actor Nikitin Dheer.
The actor of 62 years also talked about his upcoming show ‘Ajooni’ that also features Shoaib Ibrahim as well as Ayushi Khurana.
“So regardless of whether it’s negative or positive, I’m glad working on a great script.And that’s exactly what “Ajooni” gave me an impressive character and a great script.”
Popular for his performance of Karna in the film by BR Chopra film ‘Mahabharat’ Pankaj gives a glimpse of his character that he describes as “dominating in nature”.
“My character Ravinder is very dominant in the sense that he believes men are more powerful than women and doesn’t believe in the notion of women having the same rights as men.He is also extremely emotional, and lives life according to his own rules and this enticed me to assume the character of Ravinder since his character is distinct from the rest.”
“Ajooni” is a show on Star Bharat.
