Hyderabad Sep 1, : AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has slammed the Uttar Pradesh’s BJP government for its decision to conduct an examination of unknown madarsas in the state, and described the decision a harassment of Muslims. The Hyderabad MP claimed that the state government does not have the authority to interfere in the running of these madarsas since they do not receive any money whether from the state government, or the Centre.
Owaisi claimed that, under the Article 30 of the Constitution, Muslims have the right to create and manage schools of education of their preference.
The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president has described the survey proposal as a’small NRC and an attempt to denigrate Muslims as well as Islam.
The MP was adamant when asked about the claims that madarsas have been engaged in nationalist activities.”You are making this statement in a shambles at a time that India is celebrating its 75th year of Independence. The madarsas fought for freedom in India and you are judging these madarsas with suspicion.Do you think you pay tribute to the freedom fighters who escaped through the ranks of these madarsas and won Independence for India,” he asked.
“Issue an order that says don’t remain as a Muslim do not offer the namaz, and don’t even recite Quran. It’s exactly what you would like,” Owaisi said.
The MP also said that even for madarsas which are recognized under the Madarsa Board, the government has not paid teachers salaries in the last two years.
Owaisi also took aim at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her comments that there are many decent individuals in RSS.He recommended she take the oath is what an RSS member reads each morning.
The MP claimed that it wasn’t the only time Mamata has extolled RSS.”She has been a fan of RSS in 2003 or 2004 , and RSS was known to call her Durga. When the elections were announced, she started speaking about secularism and has now said that there are some good individuals in RSS.We would like to ask Mamata Banerjee how long she will lie to Muslims of India as well as West Bengal,” he said.
Owaisi has criticized the Narendra Modi administration over joint military exercises with China.
He is reacting to reports that India and China will be taking part in the Russian week-long military exercises.
“What do you think is saga going on? China has a territory of 1,000 square kilometers in Ladakh and you’re conducting military exercises with China,” he said.
He brought back a statement from the foreign minister saying that relations with China cannot be normal until the boundary issues are solved.”What do you say to the brave soldiers who are seated at high peaks to protect the country?” he said.
Owaisi said that the Modi administration has made the fun of the Indian army, the security of the country as well as sovereignty and territorial integrity.
