Singapore on August 31, : Singapore reported 2,900 new cases of Covid-19 which brings the total number to 1,837,090.Of the cases that were reported there were 275 cases identified via tests using PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests, while 2,625 cases were identified through tests of ART (antigen rapid test) tests according to figures published by the Health Ministry on Tuesday.
Within the PCR cases 257 of them were local transmissions while 18 cases were imported.In the ART cases with mild symptoms and deemed as being of low risk there were 234 local transmissions, and 191 cases imported.
An estimated of 286 patients are currently being treated in hospitals, with 10 cases in intensive care units, Xinhua news agency reported.
Another death was recorded from Covid-19 on the Tuesday and brought the total death total to 1,592, the Ministry said.
