New Delhi, Aug 30 : The protest that was held overnight by Aam Aadmi MLAs from the Aam Aadmi party at the Delhi assembly demanding an investigation into Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K.Saxena continued Tuesday morning.The agitated AAP MLAs will be joining the assembly session from the protesting location at 11 a.m.at which point the House will resume on Tuesday.The AAP MLAs are protesting under the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the assembly hall against Saxena over alleged exchange of demonetised banknotes with the face value of 1400 crore rupees during his time as KVIC chairman, and seeking an an investigation against Saxena.
In the meantime, Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs have also been protesting in front of the Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru statues inside the assembly halls, demanding the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia.
The BJP MLAs will also participate in this session once the House begins at 11 a.m.
In the midst of the ongoing conflict between Centre and Delhi government Amid the ongoing battle between Delhi govt and the Centre, the Aam Aadmi Party on Monday accused Delhi LG V.K.Saxena of corruption during the demonetization.The party demanded the removal of LG for engaging in the laundering of money during demonetisation, as well as the blatant abuse of authority as Chairperson of the Khadi Commission.
AAP Senior leader and MLA Atishi claimed “When the entire nation was waiting in lines throughout the day and into the night long during demonetisation, Delhi LG V.K.Saxena was busy converting his black cash to white.Erstwhile Khadi Gramodyog Chairman V.K.Saxena made it a point to pressurize the cashiers of Khadi stores across India to exchange his old currency that was unaccounted to a new one”.
