New Delhi, Aug 29 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit the Delhi Police headquarters in the capital city on Tuesday.In his trip, Shah will discuss about the security of the nation, the actions plan of 2024 and also about the security arrangements available for the G-20 summit.
He will also be presenting awards to the number of police officers, who were awarded medals at the Commonwealth Games, national-level competitions and in World Police Fire Games.
“Mainly four issues will be debated, of which the first will be about the action plan 2024 that will make the capital of the nation secure.
The second is security arrangements for the G-20 summit, which is being overseen by Shah.The focus will be on forensics and other related matters.
The police officers who have been awarded trophies will be honored by Shah,” said a senior police official.
A source told the Home Minister of India is requesting to see that Delhi Police should focus on more forensic evidences that can prove their cases in the relevant courts.
In this regard, Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora will meet with Shah and inform him about the necessity of equipment.
“We need our own laboratory similar to the Central Bureau of Investigation.This will be communicated to Shah which will help us gain force.We’ve been an elite force however, if we can obtain an experimental laboratory of our own, it could be an opportunity in the armour for us.We can get a an immediate report and present it to the court.We need to seek the help of laboratories, which can take a long some time” an official of the police stated, requesting anonymity.
The Delhi Police Comissioner and the Union Home Minister talk about other cases of sensational crime in addition which includes the Jahangirpuri case.This is their first official meeting.
