By Shaneer N Siddiqui Dubai 28th, August : In advance of the highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan in Asia Cup 2022, India’s captain Rohit Sharma said that his team will not be taking on the burden of incidents in the past, and every match and event, represents a new beginning.
Sunday’s match in Dubai will be the return of the “greatest rivalry” in the entire world of cricket as India and Pakistan start their Asia Cup Group A campaign. It is also the first time they will meet the two teams since facing each other in the men’s T20 World Cup last year in the UAE where Pakistan scored a stunning 10-wick win over India the first time they have achieved this victory in the Men’s World Cup.
“We cannot say anything about the match tomorrow, or what the pitch will do.It is designed for spinners or fast bowlers. Both teams will be missing their top bowlers. However, I hope that the player who will fill the void of Bumrah will try his best.”
“Every event and match is a new start, and we don’t carry the burden of the past.We will concentrate on winning the game not on the opponent.Everybody in the squad is happy. We’ll make our decision on the basis of the pitch behaviour of the game today (between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan),” said Rohit in the press conference prior to the match.
“We will determine our direction of action based on the current situation.
A new game is an opportunity for us to face a new problem. There is no need to dwell on the previous loss, however we consider it, but we also take lessons from our mistakes.
This non-covid compliance situation is going to be beneficial to us and is beneficial for our mental health,” added Rohit.
When he met the Pakistani fans during training session, Rohit stated that the encounter might be unusual for the media however for us, it’s something that is normal.”Yesterday they were right next to me, and I’m saying high, because for us , they are all cricket fans.Similar to the match’s hype or tension media creates the excitement however we are the only ones who play the game.”
In India’s opening match, Rohit declared, “we tried many new ways, new combinations. If we don’t test ways to identify our strengths and weaknesses.”
